Shipping and logistics giant Ceva Logistics’ European operations have been disrupted after hackers compromised its systems.
The outage occurred on July 29 and the company is still working to restore affected services. Eight warehouses across Europe are affected.
On August 1, the company notified affected customers of the cyberattack and informed them that goods stored in the destroyed warehouses would not be shipped.

Some of the affected organizations not only informed their customers about the delays in shipping orders, but also disclosed that personal data may have been affected.
“The incident affected two systems used to process orders from one of Bol’s fulfillment centers. Bol systems were not affected. However, data of customers whose orders were fulfilled through this location may have been viewed or copied,” Bol said said.
According to De Bijenkorf, the data breach could affect names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and online order details. For business customers, company names and identification numbers may have been disclosed, it is said.
“No payment details, bank account numbers (IBANs), credit card information, usernames or passwords are involved in this incident,” De Bijenkorf said noted.
Valve also told customers that customers’ delivery-related information was likely compromised in the attack. The company uses Ceva to ship physical hardware to customers in Europe, and the logistics giant stores shipping information for three months, Valve said, according to Multiple Reddit Posts.
It is unclear how the attackers hacked Ceva’s systems, how many people may have been affected, and who was behind the incident.
Safety Week has emailed Ceva for more information about the attack and will update this article if the company responds.
A subsidiary of CMA CGM Group, headquartered in France, Ceva Logistics operates over 1,700 facilities worldwide and provides contract logistics, air, sea, ground and finished vehicle transportation services in 170 countries.
This is not the first time that Ceva Logistics has fallen victim to a data breach. Last year, the extortion group Coinbase Cartel launched two attacks against the company.
