AI risk and compliance startup HelmGuard today announced it has raised $7.3 million in seed funding.
The investment round was co-led by Infinity Ventures and Frontline, with additional support from FinTech Collective, Stage 2 Capital and Entrepreneur First.
Founded in 2024 by former Palantir executive John Daly (CEO) and Jack Miller (CTO), based in the UK HelmGuard has built an agent-based governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and security platform that continuously collects and assesses risk signals from source systems.
According to the startup, its solution cuts assessment cycles to hours by unifying fragmented compliance, security and risk data from unstructured data, documentation and source systems it integrates with.
The platform’s AI agents then automate risk management, assurance and control gap assessment workflows to synthesize results into a single, unified view.
Vendor risk guaranteed at purchase no longer covers what is currently being implemented as more and more vendors integrate AI into their products, HelmGuard says, noting that its agents gather evidence and assess risks against verified, current claims.
“Most compliance platforms are built to document a process, not reach a conclusion. Now they’re using AI to produce those documents faster, which doesn’t help anyone solve anything,” Daly said.
“Our agents go to the source to collect and evaluate risk signals directly, abstracting from the manual data collection and evaluation work that takes thousands of hours per year. This funding allows us to bring this capability to many more teams and expand it to manage AI agents that are deployed in other workflows,” he added.
