Monitor Audio has introduced the Silver Series 8G, a complete redesign of its best-selling stereo speakers with seven new models aimed at both stereo listeners and home theater enthusiasts.
The new product line includes improved driver technology, a redesigned tweeter, a new port design and improved cabinet bracing. Monitor Audio ranks the Silver Series 8G as the most advanced Silver Series, with speakers ranging from compact 5.1 systems to full Dolby Atmos 7.1.4.
At the heart of the range is the latest version of Monitor Audio’s C-CAM driver, now paired with RST III cone geometry. According to the company, the updated design increases stiffness while reducing unwanted resonances, with the aim of providing greater precision and control in the frequency range.
The C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter has also been redesigned. It now features a vented rear chamber, a new shorting ring and the company’s UD Waveguide II. These are designed to improve clarity, dispersion and consistency at higher frequencies.
Another significant change is the new Silent Flow port technology. Inspired by the structure of owl feathers, the powder uses an increased diameter and revised torch geometry to smooth airflow. Monitor Audio claims this reduces turbulence while helping the speakers deliver deeper, clearer bass.
The cabinets also receive structural improvements, including Through-Bolt Driver Bracing, which mounts the drive units directly to the back of the cabinet. New outrigger legs, inspired by the flagship Platinum Series 3G, provide a wider base and adjustable leveling. In addition, the built-in rubber feet can be used instead of spikes on hard floors.
The seven-model series includes the Silver 500 8G, Silver 300 8G, Silver 100 8G, Silver 50 8G, Silver On-Wall 8G, Silver Center 8G and Silver AMS 8G. Available in high-gloss black, satin white and European walnut finishes.
