The Samsung S99H, or S95H in the US (the UK also has the S95H, but with a deceptively different look) is Samsung’s 2026 flagship OLED. Befitting its flagship status, it pairs vivid colors and picture quality with cinematic-accurate reproduction that any serious movie buff will appreciate.
Design-wise, the S99H makes no apologies for its appearance. The screen sits in a metal frame, extremely thin, with a wider back that extends beyond the edges, which houses Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound (OTS+) 4.2.2-channel speaker system.
The effect is that the sound comes from the right part of the screen and provides a sufficiently precise timbre. It has a striking appearance and is actually wall mountable. The legs attach to the bottom corners of the screen, so you’ll need a very wide unit if you want a free-standing one.
The S99H features an advanced anti-reflection filter. You can place it opposite a window or under wall lights, and glare is simply not a problem. Connectivity is also plentiful, with four HDMI 2.1 inputs, two USB ports, Ethernet and an optical digital audio output. The S99H is also compatible with Samsung’s Wireless One Connect boxes, which add four more HDMI inputs for a total of eight, so your TV can sit in the room without cables.
Tizen OS handles the smart side of things, offering almost every major streaming app in addition to AI-driven search with Copilot and Perplexity. The interface is not the cleanest available, but the option to block ads helps significantly. There’s a dedicated games page, and the Galaxy Watch’s gesture support is great for basic menu navigation.
The S99H essentially features a QD OLED panel supported by Samsung’s OLED HDR Pro and OLED Brightness Booster features. Booster pushes peak brightness into seriously high areas, so the set performs well in a bright living room, while HDR Pro handles upscaling and color correction. It also supports HDR10+ Advanced, Samsung’s answer to Dolby Vision 2, to provide brighter images with better local tone mapping in addition to HDR10 and HLG.
In normal mode, both color and brightness are spectacular. Bright highlights burst from inkjet blacks, and the contrast is phenomenal. Switch to Movie Maker mode and color accuracy errors stay below the threshold of human visibility. It’s a fine, immersive picture that home theater enthusiasts will really appreciate.
Upscaling is also close to masterful: it pulls HD and SD sources cleanly into 4K with no smearing, and noise reduction is handled before the upscaler does its job.
The game is a real highlight. The S99H supports 165Hz with AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync, and the input lag in game mode is 9.7ms. The dedicated game menu offers useful extras such as minimap zoom and increased brightness in dark areas.
Overall sound quality is impressive. The OTS+ system places effects precisely on the screen and beyond, with wide dynamic range by TV standards. Very strong treble effects sound a little brittle at times, and deep bass lines can cause crackling artifacts at higher volumes.
The Samsung S99H offers spectacular yet carefully considered images with outstanding connectivity options. It’s pricey, but for those looking for Samsung’s top-of-the-line OLED, it’s worth buying.
