Timi has been writing about technology for over a decade, focusing on smartphones, computers, and anything else he finds interesting in the tech space. This Verbatim Pocket SSD is a great choice if you want compact, durable solid state storage. The $180 retail price for this portable SSD was the new normal in 2026, but we think a 22% discount from Amazon will bring it down to $140.

A simple portable SSD perfect for work, school and personal use. If you’ve been around in the past year, you know that SSD prices have gone up quite a bit. While this discounted price isn’t as low as it used to be, we still think it’s worth considering.
Everything you need
This Verbatim Pocket portable SSD is a great choice for anyone. So, whether you need to save a few files a week or you’re working on heavy projects at school, this SSD can handle it all.
It’s also versatile, and can be used with computers, phones, tablets, and any other USB-C device. It is compact, lightweight and offers high performance of 1000 MB/s.
An included key ring makes it easy to keep it with you, but it also doubles as a USB-C cable for portability. It’s a smart move by Verbatim, which wants more companies to copy the formula.
If you use Windows, the SSD comes with a free copy of Nero Backup software. If you’re on macOS, we recommend using Time Machine to sort things out.
Verbatim does not offer a durability rating for this portable SSD, so we recommend that you use caution when handling it. SSDs are generally pretty good at handling bumps and drops, but we wouldn’t take it too far with a pocket.
