It looks like Google has finally killed off the Pixel Tablet

Google may have quietly pulled the plug on the Pixel tablet. The three-year-old tablet has disappeared from the Google Store, while the company also removed the “Tablet” category from its homepage’s navigation menu.

Removing the Pixel Tablet was the first spotted by Jetstreamwhich already reported that the device was marked as out of stock a few days earlier. Google has yet to confirm if the tablet has been officially discontinued, but the product being taken down entirely is a pretty strong hint that its time may be up.

The signs don’t stop there. Google Pixel Tablet accessories are still listed, but most are not available. For example, the Pixel Tablet Case and Charging Speaker Dock are currently only set to stock notifications, not available for purchase. The only accessory available for purchase is the Wasserstein Pixel Tablet speaker stand.

The tablet is increasingly difficult to find elsewhere. It’s no longer available from Amazon, while Best Buy says it’s “no longer available in new condition.” This makes the disappearance of the Google Store seem less like a temporary stock issue and more like the end of the road for the device.

Google originally announced the Pixel Tablet at I/On 2023 and positioned it as a tablet that could double as a smart home hub when docked. It’s priced at $899, including a charging speaker base, so the two-in-one setup is a key part of its appeal.

So far, however, Google hasn’t officially called time on the Pixel Tablet, but if it does confirm the discontinuation, it means the Pixel Tablet only lasted about three years. And with no replacement on the way, anyone hoping for a second-generation model might have to wait a little longer, or accept that Google’s tablet experiment is over.
