On October 2, Apple TV will launch Last Home: Winter K2which is a documentary that reveals the “complex, difficult and moving story” of extreme climbing, and is now considered a rarity. 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Apple TV first announced that it had acquired worldwide rights Last Home: Winter K2 Earlier this year, it was said that it was a Sundance Film Festival selection documentary.

Then, a few weeks ago, the platform set October 2 for the launch date, and today, it published a trailer for the documentary, which you can find below.

In “The Last First: Winter K2,” Amir Bar-Lev tells a complex, difficult and moving story that takes a look at the extreme climbing industry and its changing culture. Focusing on the 2021 expedition, the documentary follows Icelander John Snorri Sigurjónsson and the Pakistani father-son team of Ali and Sajid Sadpara, a party of climbers set to be the first to summit K2 in winter, when conditions are at their most brutal. The man soon finds himself sharing a treacherous climb with influential climbers and their film crews, commercial tourism clients, and a Nepalese team not content to help Westerners achieve the mountain’s glory. “Last Home: Winter K2” will take us to the icy heights and unpredictable weather of K2 and reveal a surprising and layered story – one of strategy and determination, caste, money and power – all under life and death circumstances.
