Pluribus became an instant hit when it premiered on Apple TV last year. And creator Vince Gilligan just shared an exciting update on the progress of Pluribus season 2, and when it might return.
Pluribus Season 2 is about to begin filming, making a late 2027 premiere possible.

More Vince Gilligan creator appeared deadline Crew Call Podcast This week. Most of the episode focuses on the show’s music, as composer Dave Porter is a guest.
But the subject of Pluribus season 2 is up, and Gilligan shared a big update.
Here is what he said:
I can’t wait for people to see Season 2, because we just finished breaking it, and we’re going to start shooting it in a month—in a couple of months. And man am I excited.
It is unclear exactly when the interview was recorded. Therefore, the mention of filming starting in “a few months” could mean as early as September. In any case, production starting soon is an encouraging sign.
Immediately after this speech, Gilligan was asked if he “still thinks” the premiere date of season 2 will be in late 2027.
It’s an interesting question because it is assumed that Gilligan mentioned that at the end of the 2027 deadline. As far as I know, no such goal has been shared on record. Gilligan deflected the question by joking that it would be “sometime in the 21st century.”
The end of 2027 makes a lot of sense considering the estimated six-month filming schedule. Undoubtedly Apple would prefer to premiere at the same time of year as its first season, making November 2027 a possible target.
In other notable podcast tidbits, Gilligan says he’s planning for Pluribus for at least three seasons, possibly four. He then admitted that his plan for Breaking Bad was only for a couple of seasons, then it took longer than that, so anything could happen to Pluribus.
