Trading the Pixel 10 for the Pixel 11 sound is completely messed up

For smartphone fans who always want the latest and greatest phone, trade-in deals can be a great way to upgrade each year without having to pay full price each time. While this usually works well, when there are hundreds of dollars on the line, all it takes is one glitch in the process to make your day really bad. Unfortunately, that seems to be what many Pixel users are dealing with right now, as they’re reporting some unexplained issues that are preventing them from trading.

Google is promoting some solid Pixel 11 trade-in deals, offering up to $1,000 off if you trade in the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. So it’s no surprise that many people with Pixel 10 phones are taking the company up on the offer. But to hear them tell the story, the entire trade-in process is completely messed up, delivering inconsistent messages about whether the trade-in has been accepted or not, and in the end, most of them find their cards still being charged for the full value.

To make matters worse, they say Google can’t issue return credits, forcing them to pay much more for the Pixel 11 than they’d like.

One yet-to-be-confirmed theory suggests that there’s a problem with the Google partner company it uses to process sales, and that its system isn’t properly configured to process Pixel 10 devices.

We’ve reached out to Google to verify these reports and seek comment from the company. We haven’t heard back yet, but we’ll keep you updated on anything we find out.
