Marshall introduces three new speakers, headphones and amplifiers inspired by Jimi Hendrix

Marshall has released three new products in the Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection: Major V, Emberton III and JMH Studio.

These three products represent the final chapter in Marshall Hendrix’s 60th Anniversary Collection, which draws on the cosmic imagery, color and psychedelic visual language that permeates Hendrix’s music and art.

The Major V on-ear headphones feature a rugged, foldable black design with a purple oil-and-water pattern on the headband and ear cups, as well as psychedelic graphics and an all-seeing eye motif.

Marshall rates the Major V as capable of several days of play on a single charge, and that runtime leaves enough room to work through Hendrix’s entire studio catalog several times before needing to recharge.

The Emberton III speaker continues the purple oil-on-water treatment through its sleeve and radiator grille, with the all-seeing eye displayed in silver on the media dial and framed by purple LEDs.

Marshall hand-dips each silicone sleeve with a water transfer print, a process that results in a slightly different pattern on each unit, and the speaker provides more than a full day of playback on a single charge.

Janie L. Hendrix, president and CEO of the Hendrix Family Companies, said that Jimi was “always looking for a sound that didn’t exist and was beyond what anyone thought of an electric guitar.” He added that Marshall gave him the freedom to turn those ideas into something the world had never heard.

The JMH Studio amp reimagines Marshall’s classic Studio Vintage amp in a portable format, hand-built in the company’s factory in Bletchley, UK, from quality plywood wrapped in black Tolex.

A black and purple psychedelic pattern curves across the strap and control panel, highlighted with a purple LED indicator, while silver beads patterned after Hendrix’s own jewelry style detail the buttons, handle, logo, grille and back, while an all-seeing eye badge on the top and bottom completes the design, drawn from an affinity for the third eye.
