Shokz has now given the bone conduction lineup a serious refresh. The company exposed the OpenRun Air 2, a lighter, more compact sports headphone designed for runners, cyclists and anyone who wants to be aware of their surroundings while exercising. It replaces the old proprietary charging cable with USB-C, increases battery life to 10 hours, and redesigns the fit to feel almost invisible in your ear.
The OpenRun Air 2 will be released on August 27th for $129.95 in black and ice blue, making it easier for runners on a budget to keep their ears open.
What’s new in the design and battery of the OpenRun Air 2?

The title change here is the size. The OpenRun Air 2 is more than 9% smaller than the original OpenRun and weighs just 26.4 grams, making it one of the lightest bone conduction headphones Shokz has produced. Redesigned ear hooks follow the natural curve of the ear to distribute pressure more evenly, while the center of gravity is shifted forward to reduce bouncing while running.
The durable memory alloy frame keeps everything flexible but secure, and the headphones come in two sizes so you can dial it in yourself. The battery life jumps by 25% compared to the original, now 10 hours with a charge, and a 5-minute quick charge provides up to 2 hours of playback.
How does it handle sound and durability?
Shokz has also updated the interior. The OpenRun Air 2 runs on PremiumPitch 3.0, an all-metal dual-coil dual reed driver that delivers richer bass and clearer vocals. You can fine-tune your sound through the Shokz app, which offers four EQ settings and two custom slots.

The IP67 rating protects against sweat and rain, and dual microphones with AI-powered noise reduction keep your calls clearer in windy weather. If you prefer the brand’s premium sports headphone experience, Shokz continues to point to the OpenRun Pro 2 as its flagship for frequent exercisers.
