TL; DR
- Samsung Galaxy S26 devices have a strange red tint on their screens.
- The manufacturer has confirmed that this is a software issue, but so far the only fix available.
- Now Samsung seems ready to roll out the fix en masse with a software update.
We all know that our phones suffer from unexpected problems. But as frustrating as it is, it could be even worse if the manufacturer confirms that it has developed a fix, but we won’t get it right away. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra owners have been dealing with this tease for weeks, but the good news is that it’s finally showing up.
Users reported the problem in mid-July after seeing the S26 Ultra’s screen take on a pinkish, pinkish tint:

That was good news — at least in theory — but getting your hands on the fix wasn’t easy. Initially, Samsung asked affected users to physically bring their phones to service centers for screen calibration. The company has teased that it hopes to at least roll out the fix as a software update for the S26 Ultra, but hasn’t shared an availability timetable.
Earlier this month, Samsung reiterated its intention to release an update to remotely fix the screen tint issue, but still had no ETA for a fix. But now it looks like that wait is about to end.
Streamer Tarun Vats share the message X on X, which appears to come from Samsung support in South Korea, claims that the S26 Ultra’s red tint fix will arrive with the phone’s next update, presumably later this month. Due to the blurring of internal and public firmware releases, it’s still hard to say exactly when and how official this source’s information might be, but our overall impression is that the patch is ready for widespread use.
So, if your Galaxy S26 Ultra is among the unlucky group suffering from this display problem, be alert! It seems that this tragedy is behind us.
